Dr. Mrs. Angela Ajala, the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), charged the Association of Women in Colleges of Education to operate beyond an Association. Dr. Ajala made the charge when members of the WICE NCCE chapter presented an attire (uniform) of membership to her in her office on the 15th of April, 2026. She, however, said Women are key stakeholders in all critical sectors, most especially teacher education; women must be economically independent to attain financial independence. Therefore, WICE should adopt the following strategies: Develop themselves academically, adopt entrepreneurship, and empowerment skills for their members through mentoring, and support members socially, among others.

In their separate remarks, members of WICE thanked the Executive Secretary and solicited her support for Women in NCCE/Colleges, and assured her of the full supports/loyalty of Women in NCCE and Colleges of Education in Nigeria. They prayed for her successful tenure in office.
