Students and lecturers at the College of Education Warri spent two days in a virtual classroom with an American university

The sessions, led by Dr. Donna Stallings of Lincoln University, Jefferson City, Missouri, covered digital teaching methods, educational software and classroom technology. Lecturers and students attended together. The training was delivered through the Commission's partnership with the Electronic Education Initiative (E-DON), with support from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund. The College is among the first in Nigeria's Colleges of Education system to take part in this kind of international virtual engagement, and the first in Delta State.

Afterwards, the College's Students' Union wrote formally to their Provost, Dr. (Mrs.) Fidelia Chukwudumebi Ighrakpata, to record what the training had meant to them and to ask that it continue.
That request is the outcome that matters. Exposure changes what students believe is possible, and students who have seen what is possible ask for more.
The Commission is working to extend this kind of access across our institutions, so that a student in any College of Education can learn alongside peers and instructors anywhere in the world.
