NCCE VOWS TO MAKE TEACHING PROFESSION ATTRACTIVE

The Federal Ministry of Education (FME), through its teacher education regulatory agency, the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), is doing everything humanly possible to make the teaching profession attractive in Nigeria. The Executive Secretary, NCCE, Professor Paulinus C. Okwelle stated this on the 6th of May 2021 when the Senior Staff Union in Colleges of Education, Nigeria (SSUCOEN) paid him a familiarization visit and also to congratulate him on his appointment as the new Executive Secretary of NCCE. SSUCOEN, an affiliate of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) lauds the speed at which the Executive Secretary was discharging of his responsibilities of coordinating the activities of regulating the affairs of teacher education in Nigeria, barely two months after his appointment. Speaking, Professor Paulinus C. Okwelle, appreciated SSUCOEN's visit and concern about the development of teacher education in Nigeria. He admonished the Union to always make good use of its office to contribute positively to the growth of teaching profession in Nigeria. He however, pledged his commitment to collaborate, accommodate, and support the Union whenever the need arise. Highlight of the visit was the presentation of award to the Executive Secretary.
