| Office of The Executive Secretary | Director | |

Description The Executive Secretary’s Office is the highest administrative structure of the Commission. The Office is saddled with the responsibility of interpreting and executing policies on Teacher Education at the sub-degree level in Nigeria. It is also responsible for the overall administration of the Commission and supervises all NCE awarding institutions in Nigeria. The Executive Secretary is the Chairman of the Commission’s Management Committee and serves as Member/Secretary to the Governing Board. He also represents the Commission on the Governing Boards of various educational agencies, such as the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), the Nigeria Loan Fund (NELFUND), the Teachers Registration Council (TRCN), the Universal Basic Education (UBEC), and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The Departments, Divisions, and Units in the Commission are directly or indirectly responsible to the Executive Secretary for the day-to-day smooth running of the Commission. |

Description Responsible for Curriculum development of courses offered in all the NCE-Awarding Institutions, Accreditation of courses for the award of NCE, Making recommendations for the entry requirements and duration of courses in Colleges of Education, Making recommendation for Pre-Vocational, Technical, Agricultural, Business and Home Economics programmes, Laying down and reviewing, when necessary, the Minimum Standards to be attained in Teacher Education, Carrying out evaluation and assessment of NCE In-service Teacher Programme, Laying down assessment methods of students for the award of NCE, Taking charge of the Commission Library Documentation Centre, Coordinating Library development in the Colleges of Education, Coordinating issues related to educational services, and Other schedules as may be designated to her from time to time. |

| EDUCATION SUPPORT SERVICES AND INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP | Director | |

Description Educational Support Services and International Partnerships Department is one of the three (3) Academic Departments of the Commission. Its major schedules consist of handling the Commission’s national and international partnerships on teacher education. Added to this responsibility is advising the Commission on how best to support in strengthening the teaching/learning activities in the colleges for an enhanced learning outcome. These responsibilities, put together, provide a framework for the contributions of the department towards the achievements of the NCCE mandate and mission of quality and effective teacher preparation for the basic education level. |

Description The Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) was created on the 12th December, 2019. The Department was carved out from the Planning Research and Statistics Department to stand as a Professional Non-Teaching Department to provide ICT Leadership to the Commission and Colleges of Education in Nigeria. |

Description The Information and Corporate Services Department of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) is responsible for managing the Commission’s corporate image, institutional communication, public information systems, and administrative support services. The Department serves as the central hub for strategic communication, ensuring timely dissemination of accurate information to stakeholders, including Federal and State Colleges of Education, government agencies, development partners, and the general public. It coordinates media relations, public affairs, publications, branding, and protocol services in alignment with the Commission’s mandate. In addition to communication functions, the Department oversees core corporate services that support operational efficiency within the Commission. These include records management, registry services, document processing, internal communications, event coordination, and logistical support for official engagements. Through structured information management systems and corporate governance practices, the Department enhances transparency, institutional credibility, and stakeholder engagement, thereby contributing to the effective regulation and development of teacher education in Nigeria. |

| PHYSICAL PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT | Director | |

Description Physical Planning and Development is one of the 5 start-up departments in the commission and presently one of the Departments of the Commission. The department was established to assist the Executive Secretary on all matters relating to Physical Planning and developments of the commission and colleges of Education nationwide. It is the mandate of the department to ensure that physical developments and maintenance of same in those colleges and NCCE are carried out in a most coordinated and cost-effective manner. This, PPD carries out by advising on workable campus master plan for colleges, advice on budgets, vetting of project drawings and bills of quantities and monitoring of projects implementation to ensure compliance with set standards of designs, costing and physical implementation on sites. |

Description The Governing Board of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) at its meeting of 18th March, 2015 approved the creation of the Procurement Directorate in the Executive Secretary’s office. In 2015, the Head of the Procurement Directorate was appointed followed by the posting of some key officers to the Procurement Directorate in 2016. Also, the Governing Board of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) at its meeting of 27th April, 2019 approved the Establishment of the Procurement Department, after the necessary presentations and recommendations by the Establishment Committee of the Board. |

Description The Department of Special Duties continues to consolidate on the earlier achievements recorded since its creation in 2019. The Department is engaged in various activities covering both academic and routine administrative duties. The Department excellently combined its main functions with some high-level administrative support to the office of the Executive Secretary. |
