Let Us Serve with Excellence: NCCE Executive Secretary Urged Staff on Service deliveries at SERVICOM Workshop

As part of SERVICOM mandate to improve service delivery, set standards for efficiency, transparency, and accountability, aiming to ensure that public servants deliver quality services with respect for the rights of citizens, the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) on Monday, May 26, 2025, hosted the second edition of its SERVICOM sensitization workshop for staff of the commission.
In his keynote address, the Executive Secretary, NCCE Professor Paulinus Chijioke Okwelle, described the workshop as a critical scorecard for the commission’s performance. He stressed the importance of delivering quality services efficiently, transparently, and with a strong sense of accountability to the commission's customers. Professor Okwelle highlighted the necessity of maintaining a proper dress code, emphasizing that staff could be called upon at any moment to represent the commission. He also announced the introduction of an award for the best staff to be given periodically. “This recognition will serve as a benchmark for hard work and dedication,” he stated, underlining the NCCE's commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and professionalism among its workforce.
Addressing staff welfare, the Executive Secretary acknowledged the challenges posed by funding constraints but assured that the commission was working out modalities to enhance staff training opportunities. He reaffirmed the commission's dedication to improving service delivery and overall performance, in line with SERVICOM's principles of customer focus and continuous improvement.
Earlier in the event, the NCCE Nodal Officer for SERVICOM, Mr. Daniel Oyah welcomed participants and acknowledged the presence of resource persons who were present to share their expertise on work ethics, staff attitude, customer care, and complaints handling. He called for attentive participation and urged staff to promptly implement the lessons learned during the workshop. The Resource Persons are Mrs. Kikelomo Aina and Nat Obe, all of the SERVICOM office, Presidency.
The SERVICOM sensitization workshop served as a vital platform for NCCE staff to engage with key aspects of service delivery, reinforcing the commission's resolve to provide top-tier services to the public. Participants left the workshop with renewed commitment to professionalism, accountability, and the core values of SERVICOM.
