The curriculum covering EVAW/SGBV/HP/SRHR as developed by the NCCE will be the focus of this training. It is most pertinent to state that the training today would not have been possible without the support from the United Nations Educational, Science and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and 03 (Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future); for that, we express our profound gratitude. We also, thank the Managements of the various institutions that have released the participants to participate in this workshop. Those of you earlier trained as master trainers will be refreshed in your knowledge on new methods of delivery while new set of trainees will equally have their capacities fully boosted to deliver the course in our classrooms. I urge you all to be diligent and attentive and ensure you learn all that will be taught to make you a master facilitator on FLEHI/FLHE. Your creativity will be challenged as you will be compelled to improvise where there is dearth of relevant tools and materials to deliver the course. The concepts of Elimination of Violence Against Women (EVAW), Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), Harmful Practices (HP) and Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) are all embedded in the 2020 reviewed FLEHI (GSE 124) Minimum Standard of the National Commission for Colleges of Education, meant for the training of pre-service teachers for the Basic Education level in Nigeria. The GSE 124 is a compulsory course for all students in all NCE-Awarding institutions in Nigeria. Family life and health are the cornerstones upon which the foundation of a thriving society is built. In the context of Colleges of Education and Unity Schools, where the seeds of knowledge and values are sown, it is imperative that we pay close attention to the holistic well-being of our educators, staff, and students. A healthy and supportive environment is conducive to effective teaching, learning, and personal development.
